A Waco dentist is lucky to be alive after being attacked by a six-foot bull shark while vacationing in the Bahamas.

Dr. Steven Cutbirth shared his story on Facebook.

'Dr. Cutbirth attacked by bull shark in the Bahamas this morning while vacationing with his family. Limited medical care on remote island - possible med flight back to FL.

His son-in-law Will Powers and ocean guide of 30 years were with him. Numerous sharks have been spotted over the past 25 years of spearing in the area of the attack with no aggression towards humans.

Steve had a 10 lb hog fish on his spear that the shark was going after- hit him like an 18 wheeler from the right side, knocked off his mask & bit him on the leg & face.'
