A demolition company in Texas made a huge mistake by tearing down the wrong house after a tornado.

The owners of a duplex in Rowlett, Texas are in shock and disbelief after their duplex was accidentally torn down by a demolition company. Lindsay Diaz and Alan Cutter own both sides of the duplex and were going to repair the damage on their homes after a tornado hit back on December 26th. They were waiting on their insurance companies and possible FEMA individual assistance declaration to start the repairs on their home.

On Tuesday, Lindsay Diaz received a call from Alan Cutter's wife telling her that their homes were gone. Diaz rushed over to her home and saw that there was nothing left. Diaz and her son stayed in a hotel right after the tornado and are currently in a rented home. They were preparing to start working on the home to make it livable again.

The demolition company, Billy L. Nabors Demolition, was supposed to tear down a house on 7601 Cousteau but accidentally went to 7601 Calypso Drive. The street sign was knocked down during the tornado and a Nabors employee later texted photos from Google Maps showing that the house was incorrectly labeled. The address for 7601 Cousteau pointed to the 7601 Calypso duplex a block away, according to WFAA.

A representative for Nabors Demolition said that the company had no comment but the incident was under investigation. Diaz and Cutter have filled out an information report with the Roulette police department. They also said no one from the demolition company have contacted them or apologized for the mistake.
