Fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers have waited patiently for news about a new North American tour since before the summer release of their 10th album, ‘I’m With You.’ Finally, the first half-dozen dates have been announced.
After announcing their reunion on 11/11/11 and letting fans know that a new album is in the works, heavy metal legends Black Sabbath have revealed their first run of what will hopefully be many tour dates in 2012.
After being a part of this year’s Mayhem Festival and opening up for Dream Theater, Florida rockers Trivium show no signs of taking a break as they gear up for a co-headlining tour with Swedish metal act In Flames.
Rise Against have revealed dates for the first leg of their 2012 U.S. tour. The trek will include the opening acts A Day To Remember and the Menzingers.
This just in … Courtney Love will not open for Limp Bizkit. Love recently pulled out of plans for her band Hole to join an arsenal of rock giants like System of a Down, Slipknot, Machine Head and A Day to Remember in February and March 2012 for the upcoming Soundwave Festival dates in Australia. Apparently she was not happy with where her band was located on the bill, more specifically opening for Limp Bizkit.
Slipknot fans received a bit of good news over the summer when percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan announced that the band was planning an American tour for 2012.
Now, Crahan says Slipknot is in the planning stages for the follow-up to 2008′s ‘All Hope Is Gone’ album, although it might be awhile before anyone gets to hear it.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have been relatively quiet since releasing ‘Mojo’ last year, but they’ll break their silence in honor of Record Store Day’s Black Friday on November 25.
Petty and the band are planning to release a live vinyl LP to mark the occasion, offering fans a chance to hear new versions of classic tracks, cuts from ‘Mojo,’ and a concert performance of the rare B-side ‘Sweet William.’

But even after more than a decade as one of the most successful recording artists in the world, he hasn’t forgotten the importance of reaching out to those in need.
In fact, that’s just what he’s doing with his fall tour, which has him visiting a series of small theaters across the country and donating the proceeds to local charities and individuals.
It’s been nearly 25 years since Def Leppard hit their commercial peak with the $12-million-selling ‘Hysteria’ album, but they can still pack ‘em in on the road. In fact, the veteran rockers’ latest run of dates — a package tour with fellow classic rock legends Heart — was the top-grossing draw of the last three months.
They faced some pretty stiff competition for concert dollars, too; with an overall gross of $14.5 million, the Def Leppard/Heart lineup bested the latest tours from the Red Hot Chili Peppers (in second place with $9.2 million) and Tim McGraw (in third with $7.4 million).
Having fun both offstage and with his music still matters to Kid Rock. But as he gets older, Rock gives much more thought to when it’s best to act like his younger self.
Thanks in part to his scaled-back partying, Rock says he’s been more consistent singing and playing on tour — and that should be a plus for fans who will be attending his fall club dates.
