Celebrate Tolkien Reading Day with the story of a first edition version of The Hobbit that has its own interesting adventure. Similar to the ring of power in the LOTR trilogy, this book was stolen from, but then later returned to, its home at The University of North Texas. Luckily for all of us book lovers and fantasy fans, it wasn't dipped in a lava bath once it got back home.

I think we can all be dorks about things from time to time. Some of us are dorks about our cars, guitars, movies, sports...we each have a total geek moment. Fantasy football players are just as dorky as D&D players, so don't think you're above the geek label. I happen to love movies, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy are some of the best movies ever made, so I've been incredibly excited about

With today's release of "The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey," check out this video of the best song ever made about Bilbo Baggins. And it was made by Leonard Nimoy.  That's right Spock made a song about the hobbit.  The video was made in the 60's, which explains the dancing girls in the video.

One of the most anticipated movies of the year "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" opens up next Friday in theaters nationwide.  From what I've heard, there's going to be a lot of singing going on in this movie.  I just pray that movie director Peter Jackson doesn't over do it.

Warner Bros, New Line Cinema and MGM have officially released the trailer for the "Hobbit An Unexpected Journey" starring Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett and Elijah Wood.
