The Darkness are known for their boundless energy and bringing their all to their live shows, but frontman Justin Hawkins' enthusiasm got the better of him at a recent show in Stockholm, Sweden when he took a tumble into the crowd.
The Darkness have come out of retirement and will issue their third album sometime this year. Singer Justin Hawkins shared details about the unusual recording process for the release, as half was recorded in England and the other half in Nashville. There was a break in between sessions, since the band hit the festival circuit in Europe last summer to wear away any road rust.
As previously reported, the Darkness are returning to North America for a tour next month, the band’s first stateside outing since 2004. Frontman Justin Hawkins and his guitarist brother Dan Hawkins told Loudwire recently that the band is hard at work on a new album that is tentatively set to drop in the spring.
The Darkness will once again land on U.S. soil in February, with quirky six-piece Foxy Shazam riding sidecar. There’s a flurry of activity surrounding Foxy Shazam, including the Jan. 24 release of their new album, ‘The Church of Rock and Roll.’ The stars have certainly aligned for the band, as the album release date times perfectly with this high-profile tour. So fans of experimental, forward-thinking rock better get ready to worship at this particular ‘Church.’
