Metallica Perform with Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Mustaine + More at Final Anniversary Show

Metallica played their fourth and final “intimate” anniversary show for fan club members last night (Dec. 10) at the Fillmore in San Francisco. The band has been performing and releasing previously unheard songs from 2008′s ‘Death Magnetic’ with each show as well as inviting some key guests from ‘Tallica’s history to perform with them. Last night, they debuted ‘Rebel of Babylon’ and brought former guitarist Dave Mustaine, ex-bassists Jason Newsted and Ron McGovney (he pre-dates Cliff Burton) and Hugh Tanner, who was in Leather Charm with James Hetfield and McGovney, on stage.

Green Day Fill in For Jane’s Addiction, Pay Tribute to Metallica With Misfits Cover

Green Day have been busy lately. In addition to filling in for Jane’s Addiction at the Not So Silent Night gig in their native Nor Cal on Dec. 9, since Jane’s had to bail due to a severe illness that has befallen a member of Stephen Perkins’ family, the band also wished Metallica a happy 30th anniversary in the most creative of fashions. Forget a generic Hallmark greeting card or an e card. Green Day sent their fellow Nor Cal statesmen a musical video – a cover of the Misfits‘ ‘Hybrid Moments.’

Metallica are behaving like Santa this holiday season, generously doling out previously unreleased songs from the ‘Death Magnetic’ sessions. They are essentially sonic presents! Metallica and Lou Reed Perform ‘Lulu’ Songs on French TV

Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujilio appeared with Lou Reed on the French show, ‘Taratata,’ which aired on Nov. 25.
