If you have been living under a rock this weekend, we have announced one of the opening bands for the 2014 KLAQ Balloonfest. The Pretty Reckless will be rocking the stage at Wet N' Wild during our Memorial Day Weekend event. Last year we had another beauty rock the stage, Lzzy Hale. I got to interview Lzzy, Arejay and Joe after their performance and let's just say, things got weird!
Though their album, 'The Strange Case Of …,' came out in early 2012, Halestorm just keep rolling along with hit songs from the disc. The latest, 'Mz. Hyde,' now has a powerful concert video companion, which can be seen above.
Halestorm received a major present at the beginning of the year with a nice shiny Grammy. The band has been trekking nonstop in support of their latest album ‘The Strange Case Of…,’ and during their New York date at Terminal 5 we had the chance to speak with drummer Arejay Hale and bassist Josh Smith about what they'd like for Christmas.
Halestorm's feisty drummer, Arejay Hale always puts on an energetic performance. The lucky crowd in Paris, France got to witness one of Arejay's amazing drum solos with a surprise ending. Oh, how I wish I was that drum kit.
Will the song of the summer become the song of the fall, as well? If Halestorm have anything to say about it, that may very well be the case. Even for hard rock and metal fans, it's been hard to escape hearing Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' at least a few times and now Halestorm has covered the track for their 'ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP,' which is due Oct. 15.
Halestorm have lit up music charts with their 2012 album 'The Strange Case Of...' debuting at No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart and cracking the Top 15 of the Billboard 200 chart. The disc has also yielded the hit singles 'Love Bites (So Do I),' 'I Miss the Misery' and 'Here's to Us.' Now, Halestorm are set to unleash 'ReAniMated 2.0: the CoVeRs eP' which will pay tribute to classic and modern bands.
Lzzy and the boys have worn their influences on their sleeves pretty much their whole career, playing some amazing covers, and working with as many of their heroes as they can. Anyone remember their ferocious cover of Skid Row's "Slave to the Grind" from the KLAQ BBQ a few years back?
