Last year at Balloonfest we got a visit from an awesome band that goes by the name Young Guns. Not only did we get to see them earlier that year at SXSW  but they rocked our KLAQ Balloonfest. Check out the awesome video inside.

I can't wait for the KLAQ Balloon Fest this year taking place May 24 through the 26 th. Duke Keith made a video 6 years ago and it ROCKS!! Check it out!

KLAQ will be kicking off the 2014 Balloonfest with a Balloon Glow, set for Friday, May 23. This is the night many of the balloons participating in our Balloonfest will light up their burners and glow in the night sky while hovering just over the ground. It's a site to see. This year, the Balloon Glow will also feature a fireworks display and music.

The Pretty Reckless is one of the hottest bands in rock at the moment, with their current single 'Heaven Knows' topping the rock charts for three straight weeks. If you have been living under a rock this weekend, we have announced one of the opening bands for the 2014 KLAQ Balloonfest. The Pretty Reckless will be rocking the stage at Wet N' Wild during our Memorial Day Weekend event. Last year we had another beauty rock the stage, Lzzy Hale. I got to interview Lzzy, Arejay and Joe after their performance and let's just say, things got weird!

As I sifted through hundreds of photos from Balloonfest 2013, I realized our team took some great behind the scenes shots of the bands and VIP section. It reminded me how  normal rockstars can be. Heck, they’re just like us!

Whenever a band goes on tour, they have a rider attached to their contract spelling out the things they "need" to perform.

What do you get when you mix people who have been drinking in the sun all day with the chance to meet Sully Erna? A Godsmack singalong, of course!

It was a dream come true.
