After a series of delays in the recording of Alice in Chains‘ fifth full-length album, singer-guitarist Jerry Cantrell reveals that the band is going full steam ahead with hopes of a 2012 release.
Alice in Chains will take the stage for the first time in 2012 at the upcoming MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert in Los Angeles. The event will honor AIC singer-guitarist Jerry Cantrell, and will also feature performances from Duff McKagan, Billy Idol, Mark Lanegan and more.

Call it a comeback of a comeback! After Alice in Chains‘ 2009 effort ‘Black Gives Way to Blue’ landed Grammy nominations and enjoyed healthy sales amid the debut of new singer William Duvall, who replaced the late, great Layne Staley, the band is currently writing new material and working on the follow up. AIC should enter the studio early this year.
