In the 80's, metal heads were seen as troubled, Satan-worshipping, potential mass murderers. That theory hasn't held up.

Pacific Standard reprinted the results of a recent study of 80's Metal fans showing they're not only ok but, were happier during their youth than fans of other 80's types of music. Take that PMRC.

blabbermouth.net article, says research in the 80's indicated that young metallions were looking at pretty bleak futures. It was only recently that anyone bothered to see how they really all turned out and the study, done by the Self and Identity Journal, shows that:

"former metal fans reported "higher levels of youthful happiness" than peers with other musical tastes as well as today's college students. While non-metal fans "sought psychological counseling for emotional problems more than any other group, indicating a less happy and fulfilling perspective on their 1980s adolescence."

Looks like Judas Priest were right, we didn't need all that PMRC "parental guidance" crap after all. In 'ya face Tipper!
