School starts across El Paso County today, but most students likely have circled Friday as one of the most anticipated school days ever. That's when the El Paso ISD starts handing out laptops to every student in the district that wants one. That's around 18,000 laptops to be passed out over two weeks. The laptop initiative is part of the EPISD's "PowerUp" program and comes a year after the district adopted digital textbooks for students.

Anyone with information about her location is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Service.

The need to get more water for El Paso is forcing local officials to explore new technology to make "used" water drinkable again. The city's water utilities division is spearheading a $100 million investment that could take care of 9% of El Paso's annual demand for drinking water. The new plant at the Bustamante Wastewater facility scrubs previously used water until it exceeds government standards for drinking water. But local officials fear that backlash over the re-use of wastewater will kill El Paso's project in the same way it killed similar efforts in San Diego and Los Angeles.
