It’s hard to say exactly what about Netflix’s Stranger Things so perfectly captured its many influences, from Stephen King to Spielberg, but the quintessential ‘80s flavor definitely helped. Of course, someone would inevitably have to rework it into a feel-good ‘80s sitcom, and it’s … unsurprisingly perfect?

YouTube user Tim Bennett managed to rework Stranger Things into the classic sitcom intro we’ve all sensed lurking just beneath the surface of all that horrific tension, lest we forget the characters were all allowed to smile at one point or another. Naturally, others got their wish to have Randy Newman perform the theme song as well, using – what else – “Strange Things.”

Our days of appreciating Netflix’s Stranger Things are certainly coming to a middle, at least until we have an official Season 2 to look forward to, but in the meantime, check out the brilliant parody above, and stay tuned for the latest.

All episodes of Netflix’s Stranger Things are now available to stream on Netflix.
