Visitors to sporting events at Chaparral High School, located in Chaparral, (far north - east El Paso), will have to sit on the ground for awhile. Either there or with the home team fans because the visitors bleachers are done for!

High winds during yesterday's thunderstorms actually picked up the entire set of bleachers and carried them over the field to the running track and fence line. Check out a picture here.

A Gadsden School District news release, quoted by the Las Cruces Sun-News, said that "the bleachers, which have a capacity of several hundred people, will cost about $20,000 to replace." It went on to say that the Gadsden Independent School District is expected to replace the bleachers as quickly as possible.

Chaparral High School has over 1,000 students and was awarded a bronze medal in the 2016 Best High School rankings.
