When did the band get together, and how?

Somewhere Up There was formed in Fall 2011 at SUNY Oneonta. Roommates Joe Frappaolo and Rob Farella collaborated with roommates Nick Squillante (Squids) and Nick Juliano, forming the band. Rob and Squids were high school friends who have worked together musically for years and ended up attending the same college. A bassist was the only member that was missing. One night, Rob and Joe hosted an Open Mic Night and all the members of Somewhere Up There were very impressed when they heard Kyle Sisco on bass. They talked amongst themselves and within a few short weeks, the line up was complete.

How would you describe your music to someone?

Driving guitars, catchy Vocals, melodic, along with a unique synth element.

Who are some of the bands that influence your music?

Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed And Cambria, A Day To Remember, Of Mice & Men, Attack Attack!, Enter Shikari

What is your most memorable gig so far?

Probably one of the first gigs we ever played on campus. We were only a band for a few months and it was a little battle of the bands at our college. The turnout was way better than we expected and everyone was singing along to our debut single that was released just a few days before the gig. It was an amazing feeling and helped kick off the band!

Are you currently signed to any kind of label or management?
