Sleep-Related Myths and Facts
Sleep is something that I’ve struggled with for many, many years. And a lot of people do. Thankfully I’ve found a job that actually lines up with my natural sleep pattern. Yup, you read that right. Getting up at 3am is apparently the right schedule for me. Well, here are some sleep facts you may or may not.
- 66% of people think you should replace your mattress every 10 years. That’s all well and good, but it should actually be replaced every 7 years.
- 43% of people think it’s okay to catch up on sleep over the weekend. You should work on getting a good sleep EVERY night. And according to a study from Harvard Medical School, you can’t actually “make up” sleep.
- 61% of people think that if you have a bad back, you should be sleeping on a firm mattress. While this might be the case for some people, it’s not the case for all. A soft mattress might be more ideal if you have a bad back.
- Half of people think not everyone dreams. Well, we all do. It’s just that some people don’t remember them.
