Alter Bridge fans down under were treated to a bonus when Slash jumped onstage to help Myles Kennedy — who is the vocalist on Slash‘s upcoming solo disc — and friends fire through ‘Rise Today.’

Alter Bridge have spent most of the last six months on hiatus while it’s members have been working on other projects. Guitarist Mark Tremonti has been finishing his upcoming solo album ‘All I Was’ while simultaneously working on the next Creed record with bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips. Meanwhile AB vocalist Myles Kennedy has been working with Slash on his second solo album titled ‘Apocalyptic Love.’

Alter Bridge has gone back on active duty for a handful of shows in Australia, and fans at the Soundwave Festival in Sydney last night (Feb. 26) got to see musical worlds collide as Slash joined the band onstage. The quintet brought a three-guitar attack on the Alter Bridge song ‘Rise Today,’ which featured a scorching outro solo from Slash.

Slash with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators are set to release ‘Apocalyptic Love’ on May 22 and have just released the first single ‘You’re a Lie’ — hear the song and check out our review here.
