Silverchair has entered what the band is calling an "indefinite hibernation."  After more than 20 years together, Daniel Johns, Chris Joannou and Ben Gillies posted a message on the band website explaining why they've decided not to play together for the "foreseeable future."  They said that sessions for their sixth studio album fell apart last year and they realized that the "spark" was gone.  They're now focused on their individual projects, which they say is more "inspiring" at the moment.  The trio thanked all their fans and everyone who has helped them along the way. 

Silverchair released their last studio album in 2007.  "Young Modern" topped the charts in their native Australia while peaking at number 70 in the U.S
