According to WAFB-TV multiple officers have been shot and at least three officers are feared dead. Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden told ABC News that police were responding to reports of shots fired when someone opened fire on the officers responding to the scene.

Two city officers are confirmed dead and one Sheriff's deputy has also been killed. As we all know tensions are running high in Baton Rouge, La after the officer involved shooting death of Alton Sterling.

An eyewitness told WBRZ-TV,'a man was dressed in black with his face covered shooting indiscriminately when he walked out between a convenience store and car wash across from Hammond Air Plaza.'

No word on the suspect or the motive at this time.
