Watch Scott Weiland’s Final Video Interview

Two nights before Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota, he had performed with his backing band the Wildabouts in what is now his final show ever at Toronto’s Adelaide Hall. Prior to the gig, he spoke with Toronto based outlet Live in Limbo in what appears to be his final video interview.

In the clip (watch above), Weiland discusses his legacies with his bands Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, saying, ““I’ve always looked at the bands I’ve been in as rock and roll, but I’ve also looked at us as bands that change from album to album and morph into different sounds. I think to stay in one sound is a career killer.” He also cites Tiny Music… Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop as Stone Temple Pilots’ “most creative album” and says he’d be “open to” a Velvet Revolver reunion.

He also addressed the death of his guitarist Jeremy Brown, who died earlier this year from a drug overdose. ““It was a terrible tragedy losing Jeremy,” Weiland said. “He was my main collaborator writing [the album] Blaster, and he was just a tour de force.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Weiland calls David Bowie his “biggest influence musically, vocally and fashion-wise.”

Watch the complete interview above. As reported previously, police found cocaine on the tour bus where Scott Weiland was found dead on Thursday night (Dec. 3). In addition, his bassist Tommy Black was arrested for drug possession.
