Back in my day when I was in school the only thing that was a concern to them was my grades. Well times have change. Its causing a lot of controversy but some parents think its needed. Should schools in El Paso & Las Cruces do this?

The Chula Vista school district not only measures the academic progress but the also measure body fat.

Trained district personnel measure height and then use the two figures to calculate body mass index, an indicator of body fat.

Supports say its bringing in help to address obesity, which can lead to diabetes and other illnesses.

Eating disorder groups say by conducting these types of screenings, identify overweight children and send home what they are calling obesity report cards or ‘‘fat letters.’’

What do you think? When I was in school I would have came home with a bad report card and a "fat letter".
