The legendary cantina, made famous in song and story, is listed on a "must see" bars list.

Rosa's Cantina, 3454 Doniphan, near Sunland Park New Mexico, has been around since the 1940s. It was 1959 though, when the neighborhood bar was catapulted from Smeltertown watering hole to worldwide legend. All because of a song about love and murder.

Country singer Marty Robbins chanced across Rosa's Cantina while passing through El Paso. Rosa's was closed when his group stopped to rest nearby but he was taken with the feel of Rosa's and the New Mexico badlands so, by the time he got to Arizona, "El Paso" had been written.

Thanks -- mostly -- to that song, peeps come to visit Rosa's from all over the world. If you haven't, you should. It's a great place to kick back and enjoy an ice cold beer or some great Mexican food!
