The Beatles are marking the 50th anniversary of their landmark performance at Shea Stadium in New York City. It was the first major stadium concert in popular music history. The show was attended by a then record 55,000 screaming fans.

En-route to the performance, the group got a ride on a helicopter. The guys then took a Wells Fargo armored van to the venue. Apparently, it was so loud in the stadium the band had to use the house PA instead of the custom made Vox equipment that was built for them.

A couple of notable people attended that concert including, Linda Eastman and Barbara Bach. Linda married Paul MacCartney. Barbara would later marry Ringo Starr. Right before the concert, a group of fans got interviewed. From that video we can see on the left, a young Meryl Streep at 16-years-old.
