Those who’ve seen Rob Zombie in the last few years are keenly aware that this arguably is the best lineup of musicians he’s worked with. The live show has definitely thrived, so it makes sense that when the opportunity came last fall to revisit White Zombie‘s Astro-Creep: 2000 – Songs of Love, Destruction and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head at Riot Fest, Zombie was going to take it. And because he did, fans will soon benefit with a new live album.

Zombie revealed the news in an Instagram posting revealing that he was currently in the process of putting together the concert disc, working with acclaimed studio guru Zeuss, who is mixing the effort. The post itself features video footage of a speaker booming a portion of the performance from “Electric Head, Pt. 2.”

The full-album show was a special one for Zombie, who got to bring out the songs “Grease Paint and Monkey Brains” and “El Phantasmo and the Chicken-Run Blast-O-Rama” to the stage for the first time since 1996. A couple of other tracks that had long absences from Zombie set lists also returned for the first time in quite a while. The Riot Fest show also featured encore performances of Zombie’s hits “Thunder Kiss ’65” and “Dragula,” but it is not known if those songs will be included with the full album show live album.

A release date and additional details have yet to be revealed, so stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Rob Zombie is heading off to Europe in June for tour dates, but will be back stateside in July for a mix of U.S. festivals and his own shows. See all his scheduled touring here.
