El Paso is having road construction all over the city. Find out where, when and what hours Eastside streets will have construction this week.

The City of El Paso is working hard to make the streets better and easier for people to travel on in the future. Unfortunately, this means for the next few months and maybe years we will be dealing with more traffic than normal on various sides of town.

Here are the road closures and lane restrictions for this week, September 12th through the 18th:

Thursday through Saturday September 8-10, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

  • First Street will be closed between Paisano (US 85) and Coles Street.

Utility installations will be in place.

Friday through Sunday September 9-11, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

  • Complete closure of the east and westbound mainlanes on César Chávez-Border Highway (Loop 375) between US 54 and Park Street
  • Delta Street will be completely closed between San Marcial Street and Coles Street.

Crews will be pouring the new deck.

Wednesday through Friday September 14-16, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

  • Complete closure of the east and westbound mainlanes on César Chávez-Border Highway (Loop 375) between US 54 and Park Street
  • Delta Street will be completely closed between San Marcial Street and Coles Street.

Crews will be pouring the new deck.

Reminder: Paisano Drive (US 85) remains closed between Sunland Park Drive and Executive Center Boulevard.

Bridge Preventative Repair Project

Sunday, Sept. 11, through Thursday, Sept. 15

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

  • Complete closure of I-10 westbound between US 54 and Copia exit ramp

Detour: Westbound traffic will exit at the Raynolds exit ramp or at the Alamogordo/Juarez (22B) exit ramp.

The following ramps will be closed:

  • Ramp B (East Paisano to Gateway North)
  • Ramp C (East Paisano to I-10 West)

Crews will be cleaning and sealing bridge joints.

Guardrail Repair Project

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Alternate lane closure on I-10 east and westbound between Anthony Avenue and Artcraft Road
  • Left lane closure on I-10 westbound between Transmountain Road and Vinton Avenue
  • Right lane closure on I-10 eastbound between Porfirio Diaz exit ramp and Porfirio Diaz entrance ramp
  • Left lane closure on I-10 eastbound between Santa Fe Avenue and Wyoming entrance ramp
  • Westbound Copia exit ramp will be closed.
  • Alternate east and westbound shoulder closure on Transmountain (Loop 375) between US 54 and I-10

Crews will be repairing damaged guardrail in the area.

Maintenance

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Left lane closure on Desert North between Artcraft Road and Transmountain Road
  • Westbound Artcraft Road entrance ramp will be closed.

Crews will be working on concrete riprap in the area and cleaning up all debris, trash and vegetation.

Aesthetics Project - Phase III    

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Alternate left and right lane closures on Gateway East between Copia Street and Raynolds Street
  • Alternate left and right lane closures on Gateway West between Chelsea Street and Raynolds Street

Crews will be working on the aesthetic towers.

Paisano Landscaping Project

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Alternate east and westbound lane closures on Paisano (US 62) between Eucalyptus Street and Montana Avenue

Pedestrian Enhancements Project

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Alternate north and southbound lane closures on Wildcat Drive (Spur 6) between Doniphan Drive (SH 20) and Anthony (FM 1905)

Rehabilitation/Operational Improvements Project

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Alternate lane closures on South Desert Boulevard between the Vinton overpass and Transmountain (Loop 375)
  • Left lane closure on I-10 east and westbound between David Road and Vinton overpass

Crews will be working on removal of brackets at new turnaround bridge.

Note: During this time there will only be business access at South Desert Boulevard between Westway Boulevard and David Road.

Reminder: North Desert Boulevard remains closed until further notice between the Transmountain entrance ramp and the Vinton exit ramp.

Transmountain – West Project

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Alternate lane closures on Transmountain (Loop 375) north and southbound frontage roads between Resler Drive and Tom Mays Park

Tom Mays Park Entrance Project

Monday, Sept. 12, through Saturday, Sept. 17

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Alternate eastbound lane closures on Transmountain (Loop 375) between Paseo Del Norte and the Main Gap (mile marker 17)
  • Bike lanes are closed for duration of project.

Crews are working on the share path crossing for this project.

I-10 West

Sunday, Sept. 11, through Thursday, Sept. 15

9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each morning

  • I-10 westbound will be reduced to one lane between the Executive Center overpass and the Sunland Park overpass.

Crews will be working on the new Paisano (US 85) Bridge and concrete paving of the new westbound lanes.

Wednesday, Sept. 14

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (overnight)

  • The westbound Executive Center exit ramp will be closed.

Crews will be removing the candlestick plastic posts from the westbound Executive exit-only lane and ramp.

Tuesday, Sept. 13, and Wednesday, Sept. 14

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days

  • A left lane on I-10 westbound will be closed between the Asarco Bridge and the Sunland Park overpass.

Crews will be repairing and repaving the roadway surface.

Mesa

Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • A right lane on North Mesa Street (SH 20) will be closed to traffic from Osborne Drive to the westbound North Mesa exit ramp.

Crews will be constructing new columns for the improved I-10 bridge over North Mesa Street.

Resler

Tuesday, Sept. 13

10 a.m. to noon

  • The Resler flyover entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will be closed.

Crews will be preparing the area for abatement work.

I-10 East

Wednesday, Sept. 14, and Thursday, Sept. 15

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night

  • I-10 eastbound will be reduced to one lane between the Sunland Park overpass and the Executive Center overpass.
  • Sunland Park flyover entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will be closed.

Crews will continue working on the new Paisano (US 85) Bridge and set barrier.
