Road Closures For West El Paso This Week

El Paso is having road construction all over the city. Find out where, when and what hours Westside streets will have construction this week.

The City of El Paso is working hard to make the streets better and easier for people to travel on in the future. Unfortunately, this means for the next few months and maybe years we will be dealing with more traffic than normal on various sides of town.

Please follow the detour signs in place on all projects. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.

Here are the road closures and lane restrictions for this week, October 10th through October 16th:

Go 10 Project Closures 

Mesa                                                                                        
Saturday, Oct. 8, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• A right lane on North Mesa Street (SH 20) will be closed between Osborne Drive and Remcon Circle (in the direction traveling toward Remcon Circle).
• A right turn lane coming from the westbound Mesa exit ramp onto North Mesa Street (SH 20) will be closed.
• A right lane on North Mesa Street (SH 20) will be closed between South Desert Boulevard and Osborne Drive (in the direction traveling toward Doniphan Drive).

This is a continuation of work that began three weeks ago. Crews are working on bridge columns and utility lines.
Note: This closure could be altered in its schedule, depending on progress in other work areas.

I-10 East
Sunday, Oct. 9, and Monday, Oct. 10
9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each morning

• I-10 eastbound will be reduced to one lane between the North Mesa overpass (Exit 11) and the Sunland Park overpass (Exit 13).

Crews will be installing concrete barrier to prepare for more extensive work coming to the I-10 intersection with North Mesa Street (SH 20).

I-10 West
Sunday, Oct. 9, through Thursday, Oct. 13
9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each morning

• I-10 westbound will be reduced to one lane between the Executive Center overpass (Exit 16) and the North Mesa overpass (Exit 11).

Border West Expressway Project

Paisano
Friday, Oct. 7
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Westbound right lane from Spur 1966 to Ruhlen Court

Closure to move equipment.

Sunday, Oct. 9, to Friday, Oct. 14
7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Eastbound right lane from Nino Aguilera to Coles

Closure to relocate gas line.

Loop 375
Friday, Oct. 7, to Monday, Oct. 10
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Westbound right shoulder from US 54 to Bowie High School

Crews will be drilling a foundation structure.

Sunday, Oct. 9, to Monday, Oct. 10
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Westbound mainlanes (full closure) from US 54 to Park Street

Crews will be returning Loop 375 westbound to two lanes.

Monday, Oct. 10, to Tuesday, Oct. 11
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Eastbound mainlanes (full closure) from Park Street to US 54

Crews will be reducing Loop 375 eastbound to one lane.

Bridge Preventative Repair Project
Sunday, Oct. 9
7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

• Ramp D (US 54 southbound to I-10 eastbound) will be closed.
• Alternate lane closure on I-10 east and westbound between Copia Street and Raynolds Street.

Sunday, Oct. 9, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

• East and westbound Cotton underpass (bridge work)
• Ramp H (I-10 eastbound to US 54 northbound) will be closed.
• Ramp J (I-110/Juarez to I-10 eastbound) will be closed.
• Ramp D (US 54 southbound to I-10 eastbound) will be closed.

Wednesday, Oct. 12, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

• Complete closure on US 54 southbound at the Ellerthorpe Avenue overpass

Crews will be cleaning and sealing bridge joints.

Maintenance Striping
Sunday, Oct. 9, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (the following morning)

• Alternate lane closure on Doniphan Drive (SH 20) east and westbound between Mesa Street and New Mexico state line

Monday, Oct. 10, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (throughout the day)

• Alternate lane closure on Doniphan Drive (SH 20) east and westbound between Mesa Street and New Mexico state line

Crews will be working on removing and installing skip striping.

Guardrail Repair Project
Monday, Oct. 10, through Friday, Oct. 14

• Alternate lane closure on I-10 east and westbound between Anthony Avenue and Sunland Park Drive
• Alternate lane closure on Transmountain (Loop 375) east and westbound between US 54 and I-10
• Alternate lane closure on Cesar Chavez Highway (Loop 375) westbound between South Yarbrough Drive and US 54
• Right lane closure on Spur 601 westbound between Loop 375 (Purple Heart Boulevard) and Constitution Avenue
• Right lane closure on US 54 northbound between Cassidy Road and Haan Road
• Right lane closure on US 54 northbound between Paisano Drive and I-10
• Right lane closure on Ramp K (US 54 southbound to I-10 westbound)
• Left lane closure on East Missouri Avenue between Poplar Street and North Walnut Street
• Westbound Cotton exit ramp will be closed to East Missouri Avenue.
• Westbound Dallas entrance ramp will be closed to I-10 westbound.

Crews will be repairing damaged guardrail in the area.

Maintenance
Monday, Oct. 10, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (throughout the day)

• Right lane closure on Montana Avenue eastbound between Airway Boulevard and Avalon Street
• Alternate lane closure on Gateway East and Gateway West between Eucalyptus Street and McRae Boulevard
• Santa Fe entrance ramp westbound to I-10 will be closed.

The following entrance and exit ramps will be closed eastbound and westbound:

Crews will be working on concrete riprap in the area and cleaning up all debris, trash and vegetation.

Aesthetics Project - Phase III
Monday, Oct. 10, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alternate left and right lane closures on Gateway East between Copia Street and Raynolds Street
• Alternate left and right lane closures on Gateway West between Chelsea Street and Raynolds Street
• Alternate left and right lane closures on Gateway North and South between I-10 and Montana overpass

Crews will be working on the aesthetic towers.

Paisano Landscaping Project
Monday, Oct. 10, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alternate east and westbound lane closures on Paisano (US 62) between Eucalyptus Street and Montana Avenue

Rehabilitation/Operational Improvements Project
Monday, Oct. 10, through Friday, Oct. 14
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alternate lane closures on South Desert Boulevard between the Vinton overpass and Transmountain (Loop 375)
• Left lane closure on I-10 east and westbound between David Road and Vinton overpass

Crews will be working on removal of brackets at new turnaround bridge.
Note: During this time there will only be business access at South Desert Boulevard between Westway Boulevard and David Road.
Reminder: North Desert Boulevard remains closed until further notice between the Transmountain entrance ramp and the Vinton exit ramp.

Tom Mays Park Entrance Project
Monday, Oct. 10, through Saturday, Oct. 15
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Alternate eastbound lane closures on Transmountain (Loop 375) between Paseo Del Norte and the Main Gap (mile marker 17)
• Bike lanes are closed for duration of project.

Crews are working on the share path crossing for this project.
