The City of El Paso is continuing to grow. To maintain this growth, construction is a necessary evil for people in the city. Check out when and where on the westside El Paso streets will be closed this week.

The City of El Paso is working hard to make the streets better and easier for people to travel on in the future. Unfortunately, this means for the next few months and maybe years we will be dealing with more traffic than normal on various sides of town.

Border West Expressway Project

Loop 375

Tuesday, April 4

9 p.m. to 4 a.m. (full closure)

  • Westbound from US 54 to Park Street

Closure is for utility work.

Paisano Drive (US 85)

Friday, March 24

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (full closure)

  • Eastbound and westbound from Saint Vrain Street to Eucalyptus Street

Closure is needed to place low-profile concrete barrier and for striping.

Monday, March 27, to Monday, April 3

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (nightly closure)

  • Eastbound right lane from Tays Street to Coles Street

Closure is needed for utility work.

Friday, April 7, to Friday, April 14

9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (nightly full closure)

  • Eastbound and westbound from Saint Vrain Street to Eucalyptus Street

Closure is needed for utility work.

Santa Fe Street

Remains closed until Friday, April 14

Go 10 Project

I-10 and Mesa

Continuous, until further notice

  • The right turn-only lane on eastbound North Mesa Street (SH 20) is closed between Osborne Drive and South Desert Boulevard.
  • The right through lane on eastbound North Mesa Street (SH 20) will close between Osborne Drive and South Desert Boulevard, but only when necessary and only during the day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Note: Access to businesses will remain open at all times.

Crews are working to install underground utilities.

I-10 and Sunland

Sunday, March 26, through Thursday, March 30

9 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. each morning

  • The Sunland Park flyover entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will close.

Crews are conducting prep work for the eventual removal of the Sunland flyover ramp.

Sunday, March 26, through Thursday, March 30

9 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. each morning

  • Sunland Park Drive in both directions will reduce to one lane between Mesa Hills Drive and Constitution Drive.

The closure is necessary so that crews have room to work on the Sunland Park flyover ramp.

Monday, March 27, through Friday, March 31

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

  • The two-lane Sunland exit ramp (Exit 13, westbound) will reduce to one lane.

This closure is necessary to give crews access to the work site.

Monday, March 27, and Tuesday, March 28

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

  • The left lane on I-10 westbound will close between Buena Vista and Sunland Park.

Crews are constructing new concrete columns in the area.

Wednesday, March 29

9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning

  •  I-10 westbound will reduce to one lane between Sunland Park (Exit 13) and the Resler flyover ramp.
  • The Resler exit ramp (Exit 12) from I-10 westbound will close.
  • The Sunland Park entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will close.

Crews are erecting a high mast luminaire in the area.

I-10 and Executive

Monday, March 27

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • The Executive Center exit ramp (Exit 16) from I-10 westbound will be open; however, the right-turn-only lane onto Executive Center Boulevard will close. Motorists will be able to turn right at the traffic light.

Crews are installing a service pole.

Developing: Traffic Switch on I-10 East

Sunday, April 2

  • I-10 eastbound will close completely at the Sunland Park overpass.
  • The Sunland Park entrance ramp underpass to I-10 eastbound (the ramp from the Doniphan side of I-10) will close.
