The NBA Playoffs began over the weekend and the Los Angeles Lakers sat out for the second straight year. Now the team is focused on the off-season and the NBA draft. And a longtime celeb fan wants to give them good luck.

The Los Angeles Lakers finished this season with the league's fourth worst record. They now have to wait until the lottery on May 19th to see where they will pick. The Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea is a longtime Laker fan and has been photographed at many of the team's games. He lobbied for the team to choose his to represent them during the lottery on his Twitter:

In the lottery last year, the team sent their first overall draft pick from the 1982 draft, James Worthy. The team was hoping for some good luck charm, but unfortunately they fell down a spot.

The Lakers need this year's lottery to help rebuild the team. Because of the 2012 Steve Nash trade, they need to get a pick in the top-five or it'll go to the Philadelphia 76ers. Lakers have a 17.2% chance of losing their pick, and odds for them getting first overall pic is 11.9%, according to Lakers Nation.  Hopefully if the Lakers pick Flea to represent them, it'll help the team get some good luck. Sadly, we know they need it.
