1), Dave Grohl reeeeeally needs a day off and 2), this is gonna ROCK!

Dave Grohl, fresh from making a movie, jamming with the two surviving Beatles, writing and recording a new Foo disc and planning to tour again with the Foo Fighters, has found something else to do.

He, Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God and Corey Taylor of Stone Sour and Slipknot fame are teaming up!

After his recent prison ordeal in the Czech Republic, (He was found not guilty in the death of a fan.) Randy wrote a book about it, then made a movie about it and is also still busy at his Lamb Of God desk.  Corey has also written a couple of books and is currently winding down a Stone Sour tour just in time to get back to work with Slipknot.

(I hope my bosses don't hear about these guys' work ethics.)

Randy says the whole project started with him being asked to sing on a new Corrosion Of Conformity disc.  From there, things snowballed into what they're calling Teenage Time Wasters.  Read more here.

Blythe said:

It’s recorded at Dave Grohl’s studio. Dave, a wonderful man, is the nicest guy in rock and roll, hands down. And an old school punk rocker: he was in Scream briefly,” (a reference to the band that Grohl was in before joining Nirvana.) “Reed started playing all these tracks, and Dave played bass and guitar on them. On the track that I’m on, it’s me, Reed and Dave Grohl. All the sudden, there’s all these people, all mixed in with the project.”

Other names that have been associated with the project include former former Black Flag and Circle Jerks frontman Keith Morris, Max Cavalera of Soulfly and Neil Fallon of Clutch. Blythe added:

“I heard a mix of my song the other day, it’s killer, it’s real punk rock. It’s called ‘Hung Out To Dry.’”

He says it's about the generation gap that he sees, between younger fans who have grown up online, and those who remember the pre-internet era.

No word on an official release date yet.
