Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello performed several songs with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ last night (March 2) and it was quite the onstage collaboration. It was a collision of hard rock and classic rock and the result was nothing short of explosive. Out late on a Friday night or catching up on Zs after a long week and therefore missed the performance? Don’t fret. We’ve got footage below for you to enjoy.

On ‘Death to My Hometown,’ which appears on Springsteen’s forthcoming ‘Wrecking Ball,’ Morello added his signature my-guitar-sounds-like-a-turntable edge to the performance and he rocked out ferociously alongside of The Boss. Morello knuckled down on his instrument, acting like being on stage with New Jersey’s favorite son was the most natural place in the world. Musical chemistry crackled on screen while these two titans played together.

With a full complement of backing musicians, Morello, The Boss and crew brought the house down. Morello even shared the mic with Springsteen towards the end of the song and his unique, signature guitar tone once again reared its head before the last note faded. Morello was clearly enjoying himself.

It’s one of the best, most rocking late night TV performances we’ve seen in quite some.
