Prophets of Rage Nix Shows, AWOLNATION Supporting

Earlier in June, Prophets of Rage announced a nearly two month run of headlining summer dates. Some amendments have been made to the "Make American Rage Again" 2016 North American trek, with six previously announced shows canceled, while another date has been added. The group has also announced that AWOLNATION will serve as the support act for their upcoming run.

Among the affected stops are Hartford, Ct. (8/23), Virginia Beach, Va. (9/29), Wantagh, N.Y. (8/28), Burgettstown, Pa. (8/31), Noblesville, Ind. (8/30) and Tulsa, Okla. (10/07). No reason has been cited regarding these canceled dates, but both Ticketmaster and Live Nation have confirmed the news.

Prophets of Rage is the combined efforts of Rage Against the Machine (sans frontman Zack de la Rocha), Public Enemy's Chuck D. and DJ Lord and Cypress Hill's B-Real. The band will be performing music from all three acts and to make things more comforting for fans, Zack de la Rocha has given his former bandmates his blessing to perform Rage material.

Prior to the "Make American Rage Again" kickoff on Aug. 19 in Fairfax, Va., Prophets of Rage have booked a gig in Cleveland, Ohio on July 19, which will take place around the Republican National Convention, with this year's coming election being one of the main catalysts for the formation of the group. The newly announced show, which won't feature support from AWOLNATION, will take place at Cleveland's Agora Theatre, with tickets on sale this Friday (June 24). Tickets for the Uncasville show will go on sale this Wednesday (June 22) and the Montreal show will go on sale this Thursday (June 23), while tickets for all other shows are already on sale.
