Adult film star Christy Mack sat down for her first interview after her brutal attack by her ex-boyfriend, War Machine.

Almost a year ago, on August 8th, 2014 Christy Mack and her friend were brutally attacked by her ex boyfriend Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver, also known as his MMA name War Machine. Mack spoke to HBO's Real Sports to discuss the assault and what happened on that horrific night. Real Sports was doing an episode called "Outside The Cage," where they discussed domestic violence involving MMA athletes.

Christy Mack opened up about that night, telling exactly how the brutal assault began. The details are hard to hear, with her detailing the moment that she savagely kicked and couldn't breathe. Mack even said, "at that point I felt I was going to die."

War Machine was caught after a week long manhunt for the athlete. He is currently in jail, awaiting his trial. War Machine has plead not guilty. War Machine declined an interview, but did write a letter to HBO's Real Sports. In the letter, he said:

"I make an easy villain. I'm a professional fighter. I'm a felon. I have tattoos and my nickname is War Machine. This has turned into a gold mine for her. She's raised over a $100,000 for her bills, yet she has full coverage and needs no surgery. No one in this story is innocent. We are dealing with a money-making publicity stunt and an irresponsible, overzealous court, and tons of bullshit."

In the interview, Mack responds to War Machine's comments on her and her motivations. You can read more of the interview with Christy Mack and War Machine's letter at MMAMania. You can also read more about domestic violence and MMA athletes on Deadspin.
