El Paso-D Congressman Beto O'Rourke recently announced that he would be running against Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate in 2018. And a recent poll shows O'Rourke even with Cruz. The same poll also shows San Antonio-D Congressman Joaquin Castro actually slightly ahead of Cruz.

The poll also shows Texas starting to lean more Democrat than it has previously. But you have to take into account that the poll does have a 3.1 percent point margin of error. And it was just a small sample size (1,000 people) over the age of 18. It didn't take into account whether or not those taking the poll were likely to vote in the election or not. And quite honestly, most people aren't really thinking about this election yet anyway.

But it will certainly be interesting to follow this race and see how it unfolds from now until next year. Don't forget though, there were polls that showed Hillary was leading Trump in the Presidential election. So.. yeah...
