Police Investigate Murder in Central El Paso

The El Paso Police department responded to a shots-fired call early Wednesday morning at the intersection of Monroe and Cassidy. A man was transported to the hospital but later died from his injuries. Police confirm they have a suspect in custody.

New information is coming to light regarding the officer-involved shooting death of a man at a motel in Las Cruces. Authorities released audio recordings from emergency dispatchers yesterday saying that Michael Malone, 34, was shot three times. Sheriff's Office officials in Dona Ana County say a detective shot and killed Malone July 29 following a brief confrontation at a motel on Valley Drive. The county's Special Response Team was serving Malone with a high risk warrant on domestic violence charges when the shooting occurred. Officials say that Malone was considered armed and dangerous.

Police Seek Suspect Who Carjacked Elderly Man

Police are searching for a suspect accused of carjacking a 76-year-old man in a downtown El Paso alley. It happened yesterday afternoon behind a cellphone store in the 400 block of East Paisano Drive. Police say the suspect was armed with a knife when he pulled the man out of his car and took off. He's described as being between 19 and23 years of age, standing about 5'6", and wearing a white shirt and black baseball cap.
