Border agents in El Paso have confiscated more than 12-hundred pounds of marijuana.  Beverly Good with U.S. Customs and Border Protection says the marijuana has an estimated street value of more than one-million-dollars.  Good says it took officers more than 12 hours to find all 641 bundles of marijuana hidden under tightly wound spools of industrial cable on a flatbed truck.  The drugs were found after the truck entered the Bridge of the America's commercial cargo lot from Mexico.

Police have identified two people killed in a suspected murder-suicide in El Paso.  According to police reports, 72-year-old Victor Melendez apparently stabbed his wife, Elva, to death before committing suicide.  It happened at the couple's home near Dyer Street and Mobile Avenue.  It's the second suspected murder-suicide in El Paso this week after the bodies of an elderly couple were found Wednesday in San Elizario.

Poll Shows Texas Is Among The Most And Least Corrupt States

A new poll shows Texas is one of the least corrupt states in America, according to Republicans and one of the most corrupt states, according to Democrats.  The national survey was conducted by Monmouth University.  However, Republicans and Democrats both agree the number one, most corrupt state in the U.S. is New York.

If you're a veteran looking for a job, Texas is the place to be.  According to a U-S-A-A study, Texas is the only state in the nation with three cities on the top 10 list for hiring veterans.  Austin is ranked number two on the list, followed by San Antonio at number four and College Station at number nine.  The study took such factors into consideration as unemployment rates, available jobs for military skills, available government jobs.  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is ranked number one on the list.

Police in Alamogordo have busted a 40-year-old man for inappropriate sexual contact with a teenage girl.  Police claim Jonathan Sparks allegedly touched the female victim in an inappropriate manner and also forced to expose herself to him.  He's been released on a 10-thousand-dollar bond on charges including sexual contact with a minor and child abuse.

Ex-Cop Stops Robbery In Southern California

An ex-police officer from Juarez is being hailed as a hero after stopping a robbery in southern California.  Alfonso Miramontes was on vacation when he witnessed the robbery in progress.  Miramontes grabbed the would-be robber from behind and with the help of another good samaritan held the suspect until police arrived several minutes later.  The ex-cop says he acted on instinct and is glad the suspect wasn't carrying a weapon.
