I've been a fan of Flotsam and Jetsam since I first heard "Suffer the Masses" back in the 80's. They were fast and heavy, with a different style and sound than a lot of the other bands out there. I've followed them for years since, through band changes, not-so-great albums, Eric's country side-project and more.

The band is back with the original-ish lineup of Eric AK, Ed Carlson, Mike Gilbert, Kelly David Smith and, apparently, Zach Galifianakis on bass (it's really Jason Ward still). Seriously, check out the video and tell me that's NOT Zach on bass!

This is one of their new songs performed live, called "Gitty Up" from the album "Ugly Noise", and it has sound very reminiscent of their early 90's album "Drift", which was recording out here at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo! If you haven't heard that album, check it out, it's really good.

My favorite albums from these guys are "When the Storm Comes Down", "Drift", "Cuatro" and "No Place for Disgrace". Get them and crank them up.
