Guess what county officials plan to do about it?

People exporting cars to Mexico have a problem. Only a few vehicles, (80 - 100), can be imported to Mexico per day. So, exporters are lining up cars they intend to sell in Mexico ahead of time near the Tornillo-Guadalupe Port of Entry. There are currently around 1,900 vehicles sitting there and many have been there for weeks.

Sheriff's deputies are monitoring the situation, writing citations and occasionally arresting people for disorderly conduct. Their operations, however, are costing the county $7,500 to $8,000 per week. The solution? El Paso County Commissioners Court plan to put up "No Parking" signs.

Why not fine them? Better yet, impound vehicles and charge recovery fees to get them back! Hitting the exporters in the wallet would probably solve the problem and the county would actually make money instead of spending it. Seriously, if the physical presence of Sheriff's deputies ... writing tickets and arresting people ... isn't helping, WTF good are signs going to do?
