Odessa Man Points Gun at Wife Over Facebook, Police Say

An Odessa man is accused of pulling a gun on his wife after she refused to delete one of her Facebook friends.

Odessa police said 34-year-old Michael Henry Abbott was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a fight he had with his wife about social media earlier in the week.

According to a release from the Odessa Police Department, officers were called to the couple's apartment on Monday night for reports of a disturbance. Officers said a 31-year-old woman told them she and her husband got into an argument over one of her Facebook friends. When she refused to meet her husband's demands that she delete the friend, he pointed a loaded shotgun at her and threatened to kill her, police said.

Police said the loaded gun was later found inside the couple's Tanglewood Lane home.

Abbott was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
