Borderland bikers know Cruces, Alamogordo, Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, etc well.  Here's a chance to roll through a different area of New Mexico.

NMSU has arranged a really cool ride through upper New Mexico, visiting places like Raton, Las Vegas, (NOT the Nevada one...), Tucumcari, Angel Fire and more. It's the 6th year this ride has been held yet, somehow, I'd never heard of it. Here's a description from the El Paso Herald Post:

Motorcycle riders and non-riders are invited to participate in this year’s ride, which will venture through eight towns and five counties -more than 400 miles altogether – in northeastern New Mexico.

The route covers an area of the state that features both forests and portions of the Great Plains region, and is known as a destination of lakes, rivers, state parks and national monuments, and storied stops along Historic Route 66.

The event benefits the NMSU College of Agricultural 4-H youth program so, you'll have a helluva time and do some good while you're at it. The ride is Aug. 24-26, register here.  For more details, click here or call (505) 983-4615.
