Nightmarish Parasite Busts Out of Praying Mantis

This video will be your new nightmare.

At first I clicked on this video to find out why anyone would kill a praying mantis because they are wicked cool but now I regret it. Some guy filmed himself killing the insect but many comments left on the video's YouTube channel argue that he had no idea what was going to happen next and that the guy was just a jerk for killing such an awesome creature.

Once the praying mantis dies, an incredibly creepy parasite comes busting out of the backside of the insect. It just keeps growing as it destroys the insect and just when you can't take anymore, the guy filming picks it up and throws it. Why would anyone in their right mind touch that thing?

According to some comments by YouTube users, which I know aren't the best people to trust, believe that this disgusting parasite is a horsehair worm or Nematomorpha. I am really hoping this guy killed the praying mantis because he knew that the poor thing was being controlled by the parasite because once infected, the parasite can actually control its host's brain. Be warned, this video is pretty disturbing.
