Nickelback Still Set To Play Thanksgiving Halftime Show In Detroit
Apparently one Detroit Lions fan attempt to get Nickelback off the Thanksgiving Day lineup isn't working. An online petition was started earlier this month, with more than 50-thousand people asking the football team to replace the Canadian rockers as halftime performers, but the NFL has officially confirmed the booking. In a statement released last Friday, the organization announced that Nickelback will be taking part in the 2011 United Way Thanksgiving Halftime Show, as the Lions take on the Green Bay Packers November 24th. Frontman Chad Kroeger says they're "honored" to play the show, adding that the band loves playing in Detroit and is looking forward to celebrating an "exciting day" for the team and the city. Nickelback is also gearing up for the release of their seventh album, "Here and Now," on November 21st.
