Canadian rockers Nickelback return to tug at your heart strings with their melodramatic new music video for the song ‘Lullaby.’

Few bands walk the line of Top 40 and mainstream rock as efficiently as Nickelback. While ‘This Means War’ is currently climbing the charts at Active Rock stations, ‘Lullaby’ is the band’s latest single for the Top 40 crowd. The band has just released a cinematic video for ‘Lullaby,’ which was directed by Nigel Dick. The English director previously helmed several other Nickelback videos including ‘Never Again,’ ‘Far Away’ and ‘Photograph.’

In their latest clip, you see the story of a young couple expecting their first child cut together with shots of the band playing. It even showcases Chad Kroeger doing the “straight talk pose” — where you turn your chair around to convey the seriousness of the topic at hand.

When things go wrong during the delivery, the father is tasked with raising the child alone. Clearly overwhelmed by parenthood, the father briefly considers adoption before he decides to “Just give it one more try / to lullaby,” as the song’s uplifting message conveys.

Nickelback will embark on the massive ‘Here and Now’ tour with support from Seether, Bush and My Darkest Days, which kicks off April 10 in Moline, Ill.
