New Report Shows Texas 10th Strictest State On DWI
A new WalletHub report shows that Texas is the 10th strictest state for drivers under the influence.
WalletHub just released a new in-depth report on 2016's Strictest and Most Lenient States on DUI. The personal-finance website analyzed the enforcement rules in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The 15 key metrics looked at included minimum jail sentence, when DUI is considered a felony, are there additional penalties for a high BAC, minimum fine, does the state have ignition interlock, vehicle impound, does the insurance go up for the person and more.
Drunk driving results in more than 1 million arrests, nearly 10,000 deaths and over $40 billion in economic damage each year. Here are the results for Texas in the WalletHub report:
