Lynyrd Skynyrd are hard at work on crafting a new album. Frontman Johnny Van Zant discussed the progress the band have made with Billboard.com.

We're getting about to the end of the writing part," Van Zant said, pointing out the familiar terrain of the new material. "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. We write about things that we've done or things that have happened to people around us. It's for the common people, people who have made this great country of ours. That's what the heck I say we always write about."Lynyrd Skynyrd will begin recording the album, which will be the group's follow-up to 2009's God & Guns, this fall.
