Motorhead are in a state of mourning as the band has lost a longtime member of their camp. Dave "Hobbsy" Hilsden, who handed everything from engineering to the front-of-the-house sound for the band, has passed away.

Both the band's camp and the group's guitarist Phil Campbell were among the first to share the news. The age and cause of death for Hobbsy have not been confirmed.

In an older feature on the band's crew that can be seen above, Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister stated, "He used to be tour boss, crew boss and accountant. It's f---ing incredible. He used to do it all. … Hobbsy served his time. In fact, we give him a nervous breakdown. He's given his life to us, really."

Campbell stated in his post, "He gave 30 years of his life to Motorhead. He was a good guy. RIP." Meanwhile, the band's official account stated that Hobbsy died on Feb. 27 and added, "All of us in the Motorhead family send our condolences to the Hilsden family … Hobbs was a treasure, a unique and wonderful man. He will be sorely missed." Both posts can be seen below.

In addition to his time with Motorhead, Hilsden worked with Doctors of Madness and Black Sabbath.
