Mexico’s President Announces Juarez Visit With a Picture of El Paso

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto was in our sister city, Juarez, yesterday and he took to social media to announce his arrival. Check out the fail that was posted on his Facebook page that has people all abuzz.

Peña Nieto was in Juarez to praise the reduction in crime. The President's staff took to social media to announce that the leader of their country was visiting. It was a great idea until they posted a picture of El Paso instead.

The picture stayed up on Facebook for about three hours. It received over 4 thousand likes and a whole lot of angry comments. People were commenting that he was promoting El Paso and not Juarez. The photo was removed and replaced with a picture of the President taking a selfie with medical personnel.

In an article published in the El Paso Times. The President thanked local and state law enforcement for reducing crime in our sister city. High profile crimes are down 95 to 98%. Peña Nieto says he is happy with the with the reduction of crime and the new image the city is receiving.
