This Mexican reporter was snapped being carried over water so she didn't get her shoes wet. Even though the locals carrying her got their shoes soaked.

A TV Azteca journalist was recently fired after a photo surfaced of her being carried by two locals while out on assignment. Lydia Cumming was covering recent, severe flooding in the city of Puebla in central Mexico. While covering the flooding, Cumming interviewed two locals about the disaster.

According to newspaper El Pais, the two locals being interviewed told Cummings about an elderly neighbor in a wheelchair who was badly affected by the flood. The two locals then offered to carry the journalist to the woman's home. Cummings told the newspaper,

"I try to maintain a good relationship with people and I was afraid I would sound rude if I turned down the favor. They carried me two seconds and after I asked them to put me down."

A photographer covering the floods saw what was happening and snapped a photo of Cummings being carried. The picture was posted to her personal Facebook page, then picked up by journalist Jose Daniel Hernandez. Hernandez posted the photo to his Twitter account.

After Hernandez posted the photo the hashtag #LadyReportera, along with the photo, went viral. Check out some of the awesome memes created of her here.

Unfortunately for Cummings, her bosses at TV Azteca didn't find it funny. TV Azteca Puebla boss Juan Carlos Valerio announced in a tweet that Cummings had been let go. Valerio apologized for Cummings actions saying her attitude was "regrettable."
