With the excitement surrounding Metallica's upcoming album, Hardwired ...To Self-Destruct, the legendary metal band has announced dates for a brief fall tour of Latin America.

Metallica will play shows in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica in late October and early November, with the dates listed below. A statement on Metallica.com reads as follows:

It’s on!!! As we put the finishing touches on Hardwired…To Self-Destruct we’re also getting ready to hit the road for the first of many headlining shows around the world. To kick it all off we’re returning to five cities we know will absolutely rock hard with all kinds of crazy Metalli-love and get this tour started right! First up we travel to Latin America with stops in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica. All the dates and ticket information, including presales for the Fifth Members, is [here]. We can’t think of a better place to get the juices flowing and set the table for many more shows to come!

The shows will take place prior to the release of the new album, which arrives Nov. 18. Metallica have already generated excitement for the disc with the release of the first single, "Hardwired," which dropped a couple weeks ago. Before the brief Latin America jaunt, Metallica will perform at the Global Citizen festival in New York City's Central Park on Sept. 24.
