Matt Cameron Of Soundgarden To Tour With Pearl Jam Instead

Soundgarden reunited in 2010 and are planning to hit the stage ... unfortunately without drummer Matt Cameron.

Matt Cameron joined band Pearl Jam in 1998, a year after the Soundgarden split. He has been promoting their new album "Lightning Bolt" for the past few weeks. Cameron because of previous commitments with Pearl Jam will not be able to join Soundgarden once they start things back up in 2014 at the Lollapalooza Festival in Chile and after that other shows in Argentina, Brazil and Germany.

He is mainly keeping his schedule clear but insists that he will be back with Soundgarden.

I will be taking 2014 off from Soundgarden touring due to prior commitments promoting Lightning Bolt with my brothers in Pearl Jam and the desire to have more time at home with my family. I am trying to balance the many twists and turns of my awesome music career. This is temporary. I am still an active member of Soundgarden.

Honestly, its good to know there are people out there that still value their word and decisions. Cameron got a lot of points from me and I'm sure from the fans as well that not only will he be returning with Soundgarden, but that he is continuing what he started with Pearl Jam!!
