Anthony Smith recorded an apparent shoplifter with a cart full of stolen items, pack up his SUV and drive off. He captured all the information needed to help the cops identify the suspect, but is this a smart or dangerous idea?

On Sunday evening, Smith was waiting for his fiancee to pay, when the suspect ran out into the parking lot. Thanks to his actions, cops now have video of the suspect's face, clothes he was wearing and the car he left in.

As of Tuesday, Coweta Police Department have not released any information about the investigation. Smith comes out as a hero in this situation, but things could have turned violent, if the suspect decided to react. Some people are taking more risks by recording crimes with their personal cameras, and confronting criminals, but is this a good idea?
