Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins was arrested in December of last year for multiple child sex charges, one of which includes conspiracy to rape a 1-year-old girl. These heinous allegations have landed Watkins in jail, where the vocalist has spent the last three months. Watkins appeared in a UK court today (March 11) via video link, and the singer's camp has finally released an official statement regarding the charges brought against him.

Ian Watkins' arrest was one of last year's most shocking news stories. Watkins was taken in by police for a number of child sex offenses, including conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13, possession and distribution of indecent images of children, two incidents of "sexual touching" involving young children. Additionally, Watkins is alleged to have possessed "extreme" animal pornography.

An official statement released through his representative Sarah Williams-Martin insists that Watkins will fight the charges in an attempt to clear his name:

Mr. Watkins furiously denies all of the charges and allegations made. He intends to fight to the bitter end to clear his name. He wishes to thank the fans, family and friends for the constant love and support they have given and continue to give throughout this testing time.

According to The Guardian, Watkins appeared in a Cardiff court today via videolink. Though all charges were expected to be formally put to him today, the hearing was adjourned until May due to technical difficulties. The actual trial date is set for the week beginning June 15. Watkins will remain imprisoned in the meantime.

Shortly after the initial news of Watkins' arrest was made public, Lostprophets offered a written statement expressing their "state of shock":

Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock. We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers.
